Implied status- questions

Hi All,

I've got a couple of questions about the implied status. I am currently waiting for my AOR and my postgraduate work permit will expire on Nov 14. Just curious about the implied status.

So say I sent my application for mu BOWP and they don't get back to me before Nov 14. Can I carry on working under the implied status?

I am just nervous about this process because i've only got 2 month left on my visa and haven't heard back from immigration yet about my PR.

If you are on a work permit that allows extensions, and if you apply for BOWP, then yes you will be on implied status. You can also carry on at your same job on implied status, but not join a new one.

I don't think the Postgraduate work permit can be extended.
Does that mean I can't get Implied status?

No. As long as you apply for a BOWP (or even a closed WP based on LMO) before your PGWP expires, you will be on implied status of the PGWP after it expires, until a decision is made on the new WP application.
