Hello Everyone,

I recently graduated from UofT. My study and off campus work permit expired on 15th September 2012. I submitted my application for a post-grad work permit on 14th September 2012. Now do I qualify for an 'implied status'? If yes how do I prove it to my employer? Will CIC help me in this regard??

Thanks in advance!

1. Yes, there is a 90 day bridge period.
2. No, CIC won't help you.

You should be able to show your receipt (and possibly the courier receipt) as evidence you have applied. I know that here in BC the health insurance people accept that as proof you have applied and are awaiting your new work permit.

Good luck!

If you applied online - you should have a confirmation message in your myCIC account and you can use that as proof you have applied and CIC has confirmed receipt.

/hope this helps....
