Hello there,
My husband is holding a temporary WP as a skilled worker. We applied for PR under arranged employment in April 2011. Our WP is expiring in September 2012 and our immigration lawyer figures there's no way around getting another LMO to make sure he can prove consistent employment till the time of PR approval. I'm looking for a second opinion, before spending all that money again on a new LMO. Are there any other ways to get implied status?

Thanks a bunch!

You need a new LMO and then a renewed work permit. Unfortunately you have no choice if you want to remain and work in Canada.

Applying through the federal skilled worker stream does not give you implied status.

Note that an LMO shouldn't cost you any money. This is something the employer should take care of and there are no associated fees.

Thanks for your answer. It does cost us about 3 grant every time, because we hire a representative to do it. Since we're dealing with Service Canada in BC, I'm worried to run into problems without the use of legal help.
