Did anybody apply for changing your status meanwhile was under a family member application in progress?

I'm under implied status (extension is in progress without CIC's decision yet) and I need to apply for another visa, as principal applicant. The CIC online system ask for my visa expiry date (has passed), and because of that date, CIC request me a restoration of my status. Actually, I don't need to do that because I am under implied status.

Now, I don't know how to proceed. Can I insert another date? Did anybody face the same problem in the past?

Thank you all!

You'll need to provide more information for us to be able to answer your questions.

When did you apply for spousal sponsorship? What date? Did you apply inland and include an open work permit application with the inland sponsorship application?

What was your status before you applied for spousal sponsorship? When did that status expire?

We applied for a extension of a study permit for ESL (my husband is the principal applicant), and I'm a family member (visitor). We are under implied status (application was done before the visa expiry date which was 16-03-17), and CIC has no decision yet.

At this moment, I was accepted in a University to pursue a Master degree, and I intend to apply for a Study Permit as principal applicant. In this new application, the online system (questionnaire) ask me for our current visa expiry date, that has passed, and understand that I need to do a restoration of my status. It's not the case because I'm under implied status and not illegal.

I don't know how to proceed. May I insert a future 'symbolic' date? Could you help me, please?!

Tks

if you were on visitor visa and applied for extension for the same visa category then you would need to make an outland application to States or country of your residential ties (Home Country).

You can still make an application but it has to go as outland one.
