Hi,

my sister and I are living inMontreal. I have citizenship and she is on student visa. We would like our parents to come and live with us since they have nobody in our country. We cannot go through the sponsorship program because of minimum income requirements. My father is in his early 60s and my mother late 50s. My mom is a housewife and my dad has more than 10 years management and HR experience. Would You please help me and let me know if there’s a possibility for them to apply and come here permanently? They have visitors visa and have already been here twice as tourists.

They are too old at this point to have enough points to qualify to immigrate on their own through an economic immigration stream like Express Entry.

The only realistic option is for you to sponsor them for PR through the parent / grandparent sponsorship program. You will need to wait until you meet the minimum income requirements and qualify to sponsor them. So your focus should be on getting a job that gives you enough income to meet the minimum income requirements.

You may come across some suggestions that they apply under H&C. This is a very bad risk. They are relatively young, able to care for themselves, are not alone since they have each other and a an H&C denial will make it almost impossible for them to ever visit you in the future even under a supervisa. Agree that your option is to increase your income and try to qualify for PGP.
