Hi ,
I am an international student i got charged with impaired driving last year sept2012 got convicted this year march 2013 i will get my work permit next year after july 2014 but i am not sure what can i do to get immigration in Canada i don't have any other record and my case was minor my lawyer has assured me that i will get work permit but i don't know where to work after i get my work permit and will i get PR or not. Any help is much appreciated anybody with similar experience pls. contact. Any good lawyers any one can suggest to help..

Your lawyer doesn't know of what he speaks. You are inadmissible as a visitor/student/worker as well as PR. You can't apply for rehabilitation until 5 years after the completion of your sentence.
