im trying to sponsor my wife here and i just wanted to know

1. Is my spouse supposed to sign or date any of the pictures? (some said just signature, and some said write her name on the back with the birthdate, some said date taken :S) Some people spoke about it, but I can't see anything in the guides in regards to that.

a. it says this on the West Europe info guide, but i can't seem to find the "(see Photos in section on completing the Application for
Permanent Residence in Canada)". I looked in this application, but I saw nothing about photos, they were generally the same
forms to fill out as the regular application.
"13. PHOTOS
Supply eight (8) recent photos for each member of your family and yourself. Follow the instructions
in your guide (see Photos in section on completing the Application for Permanent Residence in
Canada) and in Appendix B: Photo Specifications."

2. Also in regards to the photo quantity, it says 8 (on the information guide for West Europe). Does this mean 8 in total and they will take some when she goes for medical or police clearance, and whatever is left over is sent with the application? Or does it mean 8 are required with the application, and she should make extra ones in case they ask at medical and police clearance?

Thanks in advance guys. :D

Hi bacidash,

My fianceé and I haven't sent our application, and we still have so many doubts ourselves...lol!!

Having said that, my thoughts are:

a. I don't see anywhere in the guide in which it says that your spouse is required to sign or date the photos either. But if your wife wants to do so, just do it....I mean, it wouldn't hurt anyway, right? In fact it's good, because it'll provide extra confirmation to the officer about who the person is in the pics, and when the photos were taken.

b. As for the photo quantity: definitely make sure that you will be sending no less than 8 to whichever visa office you will be sending your application to.

I am not sure whether your wife's doctor will require her picture, but if the doctor in fact requires it, your wife will have to produce it IN ADDITION to the 8 that your wife will have to be sending to the visa office.

As for police clearance, I think normally the police office has a camera, and they (the police in your wife's country) will be taking pics of your wife, and definitely the pics will also be IN ADDITION to the 8 that your wife will have to be sending to the visa office.
