I want to know ...If someone is working in USA for a year is he /she becomes eligible for canadian immigration automatically?

Or what are the possible ways to get canadian immigration for a person workin in USA for one year atleast

He/She doesn't automatically become eligible for Canadian immigration. You have to be working for one year under one of the 38 NOC job list in order to qualify. If you are under an H1 visa, you can try applying for Alberta's Provincial Nominee Program.

Doesn't matter if you are working in USA for 1 year or not, you should have atleast 1 year experience under NOC code for which you are applying for in any country or your home country.

if you do have such experience, then you can apply from USA anytime.

Yes that's correct. In order to qualify for FSW1, you have to have at least one year experience in one of the 38 NOC list.

Thanks for the reply. I have been working as Technical Manager (NOC 0231) since last 2 years. Hence, I believe I am fine as far as the job requirements are concerned. Only thing that is confusing me is whether I can choose Buffalo as the visa office since I have been in US for only 6 months.

u cannot choose buffalo .... u will have to wait another 6 months .. BTW why aren't u choosing ND?

Two reasons:

1. I heard that processing in Buffalo is faster than in New Delhi. This is obviously based on the workload.
2. I am in US for next 3 years. If I choose New Delhi, I am not sure how things like Medical Examination etc. will work out. Will I be able to get the Medicals done here in US in that case? Or, will I have to get it done in India itself?

i am in Us from last 3 years .. i applied in ND .. New delhi is no dought faster than buffalo ..

and yes one can definitely do medicals in U.S itself .. the only thing is to send passports to india... my husband is going to carry our to india once they ask for it

So Working in USA donot give you any added advantage for eligibilty criteria for immigration?

I have 3 years experience in one of the NOC classified profession but I have this experience from my home country not USA...I will still be able to apply from USA ?
