I'm currently applying for green card in the US through marriage, but most likely my application will be denied, due to the complication of my previous green card application through my previous marriage. I haven't been deported yet.

I'm planning to immigrate to Canada. Does the IRCC have access to my green card application in the US?

US and Canada exchange immigration information. So Canada will know about both green card applications.

@scylla Thanks for your response. Do you think that would affect my Express Entry visa application?

As long as you declare your US immigration history fully (as well as your immigration history related to any other country) and as long as there aren't any criminal issues involved, you will be fine.

If you try to hide or lie about anything in your EE application, then expect big problems, including the possibility of being banned from Canada for 5 years for misrepresentation.

@scylla Thanks. The US didn't charge me with any criminal record, they only denied my previous green card application based on my ex-wife's claim. Therefore, in my current green card application, the US wants me to prove that my previous marriage was legit, but I'm unable to do so because I don't know my ex-wife whereabout.

Does the IRCC look into the details of those green card applications and make their decision on my admissibility?

Thanks for all of your response.

Canada has their own admissibility requirements but expect to have to prove that you were previously married and got divorced. How old are you? How many degree do you have? What type of work do you do? What is your CRA score? Do you have a job offer? Immigrating to Canada is actually quite difficult at the moment.

My wife and I are 32. I have a PhD in Biochem, so as my wife. We both earned the degree in from a UC university. We both work in Bio Tech industry, about 3 years of experience. We are taking the IELTS soon. We are looking for jobs in Canada. We filled out assessment and it said we are qualified to apply.

Check your EE points as well. You should be well positioned given your education but will have started losing some points for age. Being eligible means you qualify to enter the pool but doesn't mean you have enough points necessarily to be selected. Dedicate time to researching the programs in detail.

What does EE stand for? I have been going through some posts and people are using initialisms

Express Entry is Canada's main economic immigration program. It's the first one you'll find if you do any research.

Thanks for all of your comments. Does nationality of the main applicant matter? I was thinking to let my wife, who is a US citizen, to be the main applicant, my son and I will be the dependents. Do you think that would make the application stronger?

Nationality is irrelevant. You really need to dedicate time to researching the details of the programs if this is a priority for you.
