Hello all.
I am looking to start the process later this year. My wife and I have decided on Vancouver (we think!). I will be applying under the skilled worker class, I meet at least two of the occupations so hopefully that part won't be an issue.

Will my wife and son (who will be born in December!) be able to come with me at the same time, and will it affect our chances of immigration in any way?

Roughly, and I do realise this is probably a little open ended, how long does the process take from start to landing in Canada?

Many thanks!

Hi,

1- Yes & No though baby`s birth in december means you will have to make him/her part of your application during the local visa office process and subsequently submit his/her immigration fee as well if you launch your initial app before his/her birth.

2- its about 1 to 1 1/2 years which varies on case to case to basis.

Thank you!

So will our immigration rely solely on my skill bias, and she 'gets in' on the back of that?
It's been a long time waiting, and we're getting very excited now. I can see me spending an awful lot of time in this forum.

Is there an area for recommendations for lawyers?

Dear friend, she is your wife and you guys are going to be doing it together...
Cheers,

Dear Canada 2013,

I would recommend for you to start the process now! Because they announced limits in number of applications they are going to accept every year and it is also limited per each NOC!
Good luck in all of your starts and wish your wife will have a healthy and happy baby ;D

It varies case to case...from years to months...With the new process and reduced occupation list, it should be much quicker though the challange of elligibility with new rules is alarming....you need to double check...
