Immigrant Experience to Canada

Hi everyone,

I would like to open this thread for anyone who's planning to immigrate to Canada and to have a reality picture about immigration. The aim of this thread is to share own story how immigration did succeed/didn't succeed and how it is like to live in Canada as a new immigrant. Please share your story and most important is to be honest, no matter how positive or negative your experience were. I hope that there would be as many immigrants contributing to this thread as possible so that it can help other people planning to immigrate to Canada to see the reality.

i would suggest to anyone immigrating to canada to research immigrant services in your area. i would imagine all areas have these organizations, and thy are non-profit. i know the one in ottawa offers free french classes for immigrants, as well as career services and classes. also, if someone practices a religion, check out local religious federations for services offered to immigrants. some may have scholarships for schooling, mentoring, or free services to help with transition.

the best way to find out if something is available in your area is to go to google.ca and search for "immigrant services" and the city/provence you are in. (putting immigration services, may not pull up the right information) I usually put FREE in the search criteria too. NEVER pay for any of these services!!! run if they ask you for money!

I wanna move to canada as in live and work there me and my wife.. start a new life there, but I dont know hich visa should I apply to.. also im ask3d about the province I plan to live in.. I dont know how to choose between them... can anyone put me on the right track and also give me any advices available regarding my plan

To begin, you might want to learn proper English and French!

Best option would be find a job in Canada and apply PR thro PNP or CEC category after one year if you like Canada. Otherwise it will be a big struggle during initial years. Also winter will be very severe in Canada.
