IMM5709 Student extension form query

Hey all,

So i applied to my study permit extension recently. I was advised to show around $5000 as I have one semester left at School.

However, whilst filling out the form, under the section "funds available for stay", I put $9000 and put source of funds as "parents".

I was advised by my school advisor to do so as he suggested that your also working and most international students are funded through their parents.

Now, i'm a little concerned in terms of this.

Please advice as to the best of your knowledge about the above.

So even though I've shown $5K but written $9K on the form, that is still okay?
