Hi there!

I am reading mixed responses online, and I was wondering whether somebody could shed some light on my specific case. I am applying for PR through the Spousal Outland channel. The question asks:

4. been refused refugee status, an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificat de Sélection du Québec [CSQ] or application to the Provincial Nominee Program) or a visitor or temporary resident visa, for Canada or any other country or territory?

Prior to this spousal application, I did apply for Express Entry (FSW), but my profile was found ineligible right away (I believe it was the system itself, and not a human, who refused my application). This was because I did not meet the minimum criteria (1 year of continuous work in my primary occupation). The status says 'Profile ineligible'.

Based on this, should I answer Yes or No to the question mentioned above?

My only concern if I answer yes, is that we got married very shortly after my Express Entry application was refused. So I don't want to raise doubts about the legitimacy of our marriage (it is a real marriage anyway, but just in case they get extra picky!).

Thanks!

Answer no. This doesn't count as an application.

You didn't really "apply" for EE. You created a profile and the profile is not eligible to apply under EE. So you answer to that question is NO.
You never applied and didn't get a refusal.

Thanks for the clarification YVR123, one question less in my mind out of a million. This is certainly a complex process! Thanks a lot for your help @everybody :)
