Can I leave the "When do you plan to return to Canada to resume residency" question blank and attach an explanation?

My explanation is as follows:

The CIC website shows the timeline for the Hong Kong visa office at 19 months. I have a secure job offer that is basically open, that is, I can start any time on or before October 1st, 2013 (please reference attached employment offer). The date in which I plan to resume residency is dependent on when my wife is issued the visa. If the visa is issued sooner than we expect (i.e. faster than 19 months), we will make the appropriate adjustments so we can leave as soon as we have finalized our moving arrangements - selling our possessions, booking airline tickets, arranging for our dogs, closing our bank accounts, canceling our home and cellular phone service, and so on (I plan on a 2 week period to take care of these items). The employment offer I have in Canada is a significant increase from my current situation. I would like to give an exact date, but it is impossible without knowing when the visa will be issued.

Thanks,
FS

Thanks, Charlie.

What do you think of my explanation? Is it detailed enough?

FS

I do. Just explain it the best you can in detail and that should suffice. Or put an estimated date and the explanation. Blank sections are never good IMO.

Yes, the detail is sufficient and appropriate.
