Hi everyone! :)

I'm working on my husband (Canadian citizen sponsor) & I (Filipino principal applicant residing in Dubai)'s spouse visa application and am stuck with the subject-mentioned part of the form.

I understand that most spouse visa applicants put in the timeline of their relationship in this section of the forms and I just want clarifications on the following queries:

1. From whose perspective this answer should be written? Should it be the sponsor? Or the principal applicant?

2. Should we state our names in the narrative or should we keep mentioning the words "Sponsor" and "Principal Applicant" whenever needed?

3. My husband & I are actually childhood friends who first met in 2000 but only entered into the relationship In 2017 and got married in 2020. Does it make sense to include information about our connection since 2000? Or should we only focus on 2017 onwards?

Thanks, in advance, to anyone who could shed some light as I've been scouring various threads in hopes of an answer but with no success.

2. i dont see an issue in stating ur names
3. yes it wont hurt to include the history of the relationship and how it ended in a marriage

You're thinking too much about details here.

1. Doesn't matter, just so long as it's clear.

2. I think names are easier but up to you.

3. Much easier to tell the truth: better to disclose that yes, you did know each other from childhood. Obviously that wont' be the 'focus' but why not disclose it?

My subconscious has been telling me I’m overthinking it Thank you for your insight! ☺️

Redirect that energy and worry to double-checking your app and not leaving anything out. Slight differences in 'point of view' of who is writing a paragraph are almost surely not a big deal; leaving something out, forgetting to sign, those are mistakes that get applications returned.
