Hello,
For my permanent residence application (Express Entry skilled workers program), IRCC has suddenly asked me to submit form IMM5475 with original signatures, to be uploaded in my IRCC account within 7 days (4 days from now).
My understanding is that “original signatures” means handwritten signatures (not digital ones). Therefore, I plan to:
.print the form,
.sign it by hand,
.scan it,
.and upload it to my IRCC account.
However, I am uncertain about one point.
In the request letter (in French), it says “des signatures originales”.
In French, this wording is indefinite (similar to “some” in English), not necessarily meant to emphasize that several people must sign.
Also, in the form itself, there is no specific field for the designated person’s signature.
Only the applicant’s signature is clearly requested (and the spouse’s signature, if applicable).
So my question is:
Does the designated person also need to sign the form, even though there is no dedicated signature field for them?
I want to make sure I submit the document correctly, as the deadline is short.
Has anyone recently been in the same situation and can confirm:
whether the designated person must sign, and
whether a handwritten signature scanned and uploaded is the correct method?
Thank you very much for your help.
