Hello Friends,

I have an issue and would like to ask all the people here for some help.

I applied under the skilled worker category a couple years ago and even completed my medicals in November of 09, however for some reason my paralegal contacted me and said the visa office required the IMM form with schedule 1 & 3 again. I had a job when I submitted the IMM form and the medicals with proof of employment and police clearances. However due to the recession I was laid off and currently am on EI. Can someone please please tell me whether me being on EI would hamper my immigration process.

My paralegal has said it is very unique as she has never seen something like this before and meds were like 99% confirmed. I have a few friends who have recently got hteir PR and they were shocked too. I would very much appreciate any help on this topic

Sincerely

S

Your application will not suffer in any way due to your losing your job or being EI. Once you have been engaged/employed for a minimum of one year within the last ten years amongst any of the 38 NOC ministerial list.

Good luck

Agree with Barsindoo

I sincerely appreciate the replies from Barsindoo and rocky, however I am still kinda jittery, hence not sending the IMM with the required schedules. Then why do you guys think they have asked me for my IMM again?

I am in a similar situation as you. They requested for my medicals last Dec.15.2009... I sent them only yesterday... But on Feb.2,2010 they sent an email and asked me to attend an interview and submit new IMM forms... usually it is interview before medicals request...tsk

I really do not know why. I am still with the same employer that I stated in the initial application. 2 months after they sent medicals request, then they ask for IMM again to submit in the interview on March.

There are varying reasons for asking for the IMM again. Usually it is to update your information. But I think you should not worry about you being on EI. As long as you fulfilled the one year full time work within the last ten years then you will be okay.
