Hi everyone,
I tried searching everywhere for the answer to this but have got nowhere. It says "if you do not have status in Canada, please provide an explanation on a separate piece of paper, as well a copy of any paperwork you have that is relevant to your status".
I have no idea what to write. My partner does not have status. We had to state that on the other form so I am not sure what they are looking for here specifically. And there isn't any paperwork other than the entry stamp on his passport which is already included.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

there is no standard format for the letter of explanation for out of status.......its very important to be honest with IRCC.....will advice that your letter state when you entered Canada.....how you gained entry (e.g., visa type)........when you became out of status.......maybe why you overstayed.....its just an explanation......so be honest, provide clarity and keep it simple.
