So I've gathered most the documents for my family except the IMM 5562 travel document and I have a big problem. My father is in an industry where he travels quite a bit, up to 30 trips a year, and I have to document the last ten years of this travels?! :o He lost his passport and got it re-issued a couple of years ago but it doesn't even begin to cover the details of his business trips.

Also, all of my family takes frequent trips over the border into the states and they don't stamp your passport; do you even have to account for the trips into USA/Mexico? And If so how am I supposed to do that for the last ten years?.... :'(

Thanks

I know for my case, I lived in the US for a long time so I travel back there 2-3 times a year, I also travel back to my home country quite a bit in the last 10 years. I listed every single travels. I wrote each out in a separate sheet of paper including the destination/duration of travel. I've listed the ones that were only for 1-2 days up to the ones that I was gone for 2-3 months.

I'm not sure if losing your passport would be a good enough reason to not list some of the travels.

This is immigration so I'd try not to give the Officers any excuse to reject you.

I agree that this will be extremely difficult, and is a really horrible-to-impossible requirement for some people.

How to reconstruct the travels - first, your dad's company records (travel expense reports) may be a good source of information. Also, tax records - are you US citizens, by any chance? If so, the dates that you are in the US should be on your tax returns.

Do the best you can, and explain any missing details in a cover letter.
