Hello Everyone

I need some advice on question 4 in part C of the IMM 5532 (relationship info, etc.) Form where it asks for details of visits.

While we were dating, my girlfriend and I lived in the same city and would visit each other every week. This happened over the course of a couple of years. It is impossible to list these weekly visits one after the other. But since we are a newly married couple, I feel I should include as much information as possible about our relationship prior to getting married.

So, is it prudent to specify the time span that these weekly visits occurred, and indicate that we both visited each other at each other's homes every week over the course of those years?

I'm guessing the biggest risk is some trigger happy IO looking at the time span and asking us to prove we weren't common law before my sponsor immigrated to Canada. I don't need that extra stress of responding to a procedural fairness letter.

Thank you All.

This is what we did, in terms of filling out the table on the form, because we were dating for 4 years before we got married, and did weekly visits. Obviously, it would be impossible to specifically recount each one, so I chose to fill out that table in a little bit of a unique way. Not approved yet, but have gotten AOR2 and have had no issues thus far...

I filled out each row to correspond to one year. So it would be like: 1/1/2016 - 1/1/2017; Buffalo, NY or Toronto, ON; every weekend; stayed at either (PA's) apartment or (sponsor's) apartment.

I think what's important though is that we did have actual proof of the visits (which we included). Bus tickets for him, and bridge toll records for me. I would be more wary to fill out the table in that nonchalant way if I was not attaching actual documentation/proof of the visits. If I were you I would probably at least attach a letter of explanation explaining that you weren't living together and were only visiting (because of religious reasons, work reasons, whatever) and explain approximately the number of visits, because they might raise an eyebrow at living in the same city but not together.

They are more concerned about visits for folks who are/were living in two different countries I think. So as long as you have plenty of proof that youv'e spent time together, photos together, etc I don't imagine it will be an issue.
