hi every one . please help me to answer this question
we are filling out our application for spouse sponsorship and plan to send our app with the old check list . we don't appoint any representative but its kind of confuse me when CIC states this
"
Authorized representatives
  • If you’re using an authorized representative to help you or your family members in any way during the immigration process, each family member over the age of 18 who is being represented must sign their own Use of Representative form [IMM 5476] (PDF, 648.31 KB). To review the instructions for this form, see Guide 5516 – Use of Representative.
  • If you (the sponsor) will receive correspondence for, or act in any way on behalf of your spouse, partner, or dependent child over the age of 18, the person you are sponsoring (and each represented family member over 18) must complete a Use of Representative form [IMM 5476] (PDF, 648.31 KB) to authorize you as their representative.
    • For example, if the person you’re sponsoring is living outside Canada, and your address in Canada is provided as the mailing address on the application for permanent residence (IMM 0008), the principal applicant (person you’re sponsoring) must complete a Use of Representative form listing you as their representative.
please advise me whenever i need to prepare IMM 5476 or not . i put my wife's address which is in Canada for my mailing address in the IMM 0008 form

Yes, appoint your sponsor as your representative.

Hey every one I have a quick question. On Application imm0008 under the contact information page 2, if the sponsor myself residing in Canada am sponsoring my spouse from abroad and if she is appointing me as her representative? Can I put my residential address there instead of her address abroad. I mean I do realise that I put my mailing address if she is appointing me as her representative, but can I put my own residential address in Canada instead of hers abroad?? Can I check residential address same as mailing address and use my own address in Canada?

Of course not. You need to put the address where she actually lives.

Thank you so much canuck even though this thread is created for imm 5475 though my question is with regards to imm0008. Another question I had as well? For the same box (hence) contact information, under her address as you mentioned I should write her address for residential address, who's telephone number and email address to I put? Myself the representative or hers??

I also had another question, with all do respect? Since this site discussion thread and or board is on Campbell Cohens website?? Are the hero, Vip and Star members immigration consultants from Cambell Cohens team answering question or just every day people who have sponsored someone in the past and use the thread to help out??

Put her info.

Regular people, not consultants.

With all do respect, so how do I know that the information being provided is correct if the VIP members are not consultants?? I mean you have obviously sponsored someone yourself to Canada and speaking from experience?? My sincere apologies for asking this question? Hope no offence is taken??

If you are unsure about taking advice on the forum, then you should consider hiring someone. Note that many consultants know less than the people on this forum and have screwed up a lot of apps.

As I said didn't mean any disrespect, I was just skeptical since this thread is on an immigration lawyers website so I figured its probably consultants answering question. I guess its just ordinary people who have filled out the forms before and sponsored someone and they just want to help. Thanks again chief. Regardless you did answer my question and you are a gentlemen. I also had a question with regards to IMM 5476 as well if u can help? Section D question 10, the last question. It states signature of spouse or common-law partner for sponsorship application. If my wife the principal applicant has hired me the sponsor also spouse to be the representative for her and if she is the one filling out the IMM 5476 form. Do I sign that section (hence) signature of spouse or common-law partner for sponsorship application too or that applies to if she has a husband abroad who is the principal applicant as well?? If you can clarify that, it be greatly appreciated.

No disrespect. Consultants and lawyers don't provide advice for free. And I am not a man.

No, as the representative, you don't need to sign that section.
