Hi all,

Just some background. My common law spouse is sponsoring me. I am from the US, he was born in Canada.
We are applying in Canada.

Question 5

We do not have a joint bank account. We do not rent our home, he owns it.

We've traveled together multiple times. Should I included proof of that? Plane tickets?

I am a second driver on his car insurance policy. Does that count?

We also live together, obviously, would a copy of both our drivers licenses work?

Will that be enough?

Question 7

There obviously was not a formal ceremony as we are not married. How do I explain that?

You will need to present all those documents that you are mentioning .. .that will be a good help,

about your relation,
you need to present as many proofs of being together as possible,
like for example old drivers licence showing the same address...
or maybe old bills that are on your name....and the same address...

You can also get letters from mutual friends stating that they are aware of your relation since......
those letters will need to be legalized by a lawyer or pertinent authority...

If you go to church.... a letter of your pastor will help,
those are ways to prove your relation...
its up to you how you prove your relation... you need to be creative....
Pictures of you together.... in trips...
old plane tickets...
old hotel tickets, etc, etc. etc...

too much proofs are not too much....

Good luck
