Hi,

I applied for my Parents immigration in 2010 for which I received the First Stage approval (that I am eligible to sponsor) in 2012. Last year in 2014 I was asked for Option C for 2013 which I submitted and also informed them that I was blessed with second daughter in 2013. In January of this year 2015 my Parents were requested to go for Medical Test and also to submit Right of Permanent Residence Fee which I did pay for both.

It's been 4 months since medical and RPRF has been sent and just few days ago I have been asked IMM 1283 to be filled and sent by May 25th. I am not sure why it's asked at this point, also it's confusing as in the letter i have been asked for information regarding 2012 to 2013 whereas the Form's Instruction Guide say fill information for 12 months preceding the mailing of Application which would be then 2011 since I applied in 2010.

If anyone has any experience in this or is in the same situation and taken any steps please do share.

I am just worried that after 5 years and approvals i hope for some reason the application doesn't get rejected that too after Medical!!!

Any information on this is really appreciated.

Hi

You are required to meet the LICO from the time you apply until your parents land as PRs. It sounds like CIC has concerns that you did not meet the LICO in 2012 and 2013.

Fill out the form as per the instructions in the letter.

I thought maintaining LICO until parents land as PR only applies to the new PGP rules. The OP sponsored the parents under the old PGP rules, thus I thought it is not required to maintain LICO until landing, unlike the new PGP rules.

It applies under the old rules as well. Under the old rules LICO must be maintained until landing. The difference between the old and the new rules is the level of LICO and the three year LICO requirement (vs. the previous 1 year).

Agreed. It's not that unusual for CIC to request updated forms late in the process. As long as you meet LICO factoring in your new child, you'll be fine.

Thanks everyone for your quick replies. I really appreciate your reply on this. I will fill out the form and send it further. I hope my parents get their Passport request soon after that as it's been a long wait. I will udpate this post if I hear anything back from CIC.

Thanks and keep it up guys!!

Thanks for letting me know. I am all that not familiar with the old PGP rules as I am with the new PGP rules. I thought the maintaining the LICO was a new condition set under the new rules. As it turned out, there isn't much differences between the two PGP rules except the additional previous 3 year requirement as opposed to 1 year.
