IMM 008 - (Past countries of residence for 6 months or more)

Hello Seniors,
I need some more clarification with regards to Question 12 on the IMM 008 Generic application form:

Previous countries of residence: During the past 5 years have you lived in any country other than your country of citizenship or your current country of residence for more than 6 months.

In my case, in the past 5 years I have worked on cruise ships (leaving out of Miami Florida to various ports of call/cruise destinations) on 6-8 months contract each and I have worked on cruise ships for over 5 years.

My question is,
Should I just put America/United States and the start and end date on my American Work Visa? Will that be okay?

I think you should just attach extra sheet with details which you have mentioned and should be OK. as the space provided is very less to explain.

Infact I have doubt here as I use to travel alot as part of my job where I never stayed more than 6 months on single stretch though in terms of total number days for that place, I hav exceeded 6 months. But reading the statement, they mean to ask if applicant has stayed in some country in continuous fashion as I assume they are interested to know if I have got any Work Permit or any other status for long term from any country.

Since, I travelled on Business Visa only that is also for 3 months Max, so should be OK.

I have doubt related ques to 12 : I have stayed various places in past 5 yrs, mainly as friends with duration between 3-6 months, so do I need to submit the PCC for those places or do I actually need to write those places in application and instead of that write my permanent address as my job really don't keep me as any place for more than 3 months.

I agree, write an explanation. Having a visa is not the same thing as residing in a country, and as I recall, the cruise ship was your residence. This is an unusual case that requires an explanation.
