Hi, I went to Canada as a tourist last feb 2020 (before the pandemic), i went here to check my school and to finalize the house that il be renting.
i went to my relatives in Toronto and when the lockdowns and closed borders came in. i wasnt able to go home to my home country anymore.
so decided to still continue further studies because i also have my reservation in school dec 2019. I decided to apply for a study permit while inside canada.
"i applied as though i was outside canada"(may 2020). since the covid situation became more aggressive. because of fear and everything, i just decided to stay in canada and applied for a tourist extension. so im in implied status.... eventually i got my first stage approval (August 2020) which allows me to commence my studies online while waiting for final approval. I took a chance and commence with my studies online while staying in canada. On Nov 2020, I received my Final approval. I eventually submitted my passport to the nearest VFS which is NY. when i got my visa stamped. I submitted a request from the webform, asking them what to do if i need to go out of canada to get my student's permit, and what is the best solution to my situation. on Dec 15, I received a letter that If i'm inside canada and i want to obtain my study permit, i just need to submit my letter of introduction and my current address here in canada, because it is not essential to travel. I submitted all documents needed thru the webform and i just waited for my permit to be mailed to me. but since december. there were no updates whatsoever with my request. I called and submitted a webform, every now and then. but its been 4 months since december and i havent got any updates yet.
my problem now is, my program will be needing my coop work permit soon. without that, the school may not allow me to commence with the coop work experience without the permit. my work experience will start this may.
what should i do? the only update that i got is, my request is still on cue in montreal. and they dont have any more updates regarding it. could you give me an insight what to do now?
my last resort is il be travelling back to my home country and have a quick vacation then il go back again to canada, for me to be able to get my permit in the immigration upon entering canada.
