Hi
My friend has been illegally in US for last 10 years. Her husband was illegal immigrant too but than he got temporary permit under DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), which does not allow to sponcor spouses. He is a student at this time and has about 1 year experience in the field (he graduated form 2 year program a year ago and now he is doing his bachelor in job cat. B). They are trying to find a way to come to Canada to get a legal status for them both. They have not enough points in EE and no job offer. They're thinking about Collage, however they are afraid they will not get study permit for him and WP for her because of their status in US.
Any suggestions

There's pretty much zero chance she'll get a study permit or any other sort of temporary visa in Canada (i.e. work permit, visitor visa). Same goes for him. To be approved for any of these, she would need to demonstrate she has strong ties to her country of and prove she has no plans on remaining in Canada long term. It's simply impossible to prove these things if you've been in a country for 10 years without status - if anything it proves the opposite.

Their most realistic option is to work towards qualifying to immigrate. Overstays / illegal statuses are forgiven in immigration applications as long as they are declared in the PR application.
