But i am still confused as i am not sure for how many weeks in any given 2 week pay cycle, i worked 45+20 hour combinations. I mean, i am not sure if this is something i should worry about.
More than you this is something your employer needs to worry about before putting it on paper (on the reference letter). But once they write your hours/week, CIC would go by it, at the most they'll call up your employer to confirm it and they need to stand by what they wrote...and am sure they would.

Regarding my part time weeks, I took 4 weeks in may 2015 off to visit my home country. But I worked about 60 hours the week before leaving, so the paycheck for last week of April (worked 60hrs) nd first week of may( in my absence from work) came out to be 60 hours for 2 weeks. Now I wasn't even in Canada that week, is it considered working part time or nothing?
Same happened when i came back from my home country after 4 weeks. I worked 62 hours and the paycheck for last week of May(my absence) and first week of june has 62 hours worked for 2 weeks. Any inputs on this situation.
If its a paid vacation it doesn't matter.

Also CIC doesn't count hours per week, It's the total work hours of 1560 Hrs for an year that matters, which comes to 30 Hrs. per week if you do the math assuming 52 weeks in a year.

So as long as your total working hours per year is 1560, it doesn't matter if one week you worked 20 hrs, and the next 40 hrs. or if you were on vacation (paid), unless it's written by your employer in your reference letter that way.

Having said that you can't say, i worked 60 Hrs for 6 months and was on vacation for the rest of the year, CIC won't calculate it as full-time (1560 hrs) because they will stop at 30 hrs per week for those 6 months that you worked 60 hrs.

Hope this clears your confusion...

Oh OK. Thanks a lot for explaining everything. My vacation was unpaid. The only concrete info I have about the hours I got paid for, are my paychecks and I posted the info from them above. My reference letter reads " he is a full time employee and works on average 37.5 hours every week". Also the earnings on my T4 matches very closely if I multiply my hourly wage*37.5*52. I was not very well informed about the calculation of hours worked every week.

Then you are good to go...

The words 'average hours per week' is what matters to CIC and that's all they are interested about and not when you left work early on a given day...

Also the fact that your employer wrote the word 'full-time' kind of nails the whole thing...

Even after all this if CIC has any queries they'll either call you or your employer and then they need to explain the rest...which i assume won't be needed with around 90% probability.

Oh thanks. That's a big relief. I will apply with confidence now. I worked deligeintly for last one year and my employer is very supportive to me. Lets see.

Also one last question, my PCC from India was issued by Indian consulate on 24 August 2015. I never visited my home country after that. I know its approaching 6 months from date of issuance in few days. Should I get a new one or apply with this one ? I am planning to submit my application next week. Thnx.

From your above narrative what i understand is that
1. You have been out of (and have never visited) India post 24th Aug'15.
2. Also the PCC was not issued from India but from an Indian consulate (in another country) outside India.

If the above statements are true then

This PCC is valid for CIC till you don't visit India again to live there.

Yes. You understood it right. I never visited India after may last year. Thanks for sharing valuable knowledge here. Greatly appreciated.
