If I have a family sponsorship from a close relative, do I still need to show proof of funds?

According to this you can sponsor your family member to study etc. I have a close relative who is a citizen in Canada and PR. I'm interested in studying for college in canada. For the student permit, do I still need to show a proof of funds coming from my bank account directly which is 10,000 CAD+ ? What can the family sponsorship do?

even if the moniker shows bank statement as proof of funds, you are expected to also show you bank statements with sufficient funds enough to see through your expenses

The Moniker has to show a bank statement, sponsorship letter, PR card, employment letter, payslip etc
