If i have 5 yr mulitiple visa for any country can i apply my permanent resisidence application from there? help needed from senior members

You need to be legally admitted to stay for a year or more to apply in that country. A multiple entry visitor visa will not do that since it doesn't change the length of time you can stay as a visitor even though it allows you to come and go for 5 years.

Well, here is my opinion;

If you are talking about US, you need to be living here for a year or more and than only you can apply from there. Just having a visa of the country will not give you the right to apply from that country. You need to be working or living with legal status for a year, this is for US, I am sure it goes for all countries as well.

For example, if you live in Dubai, UAE and you are from another country just working there on a multiple work visa, you can still apply from Dubai, you don't need to go to your country to apply.

You can't use your visitor visa to apply for Canadian PR from another country whose processing times may be shorter.

i agree with NewYorker..

Five years multiple visa....doesnot entitle the holder of visa to stay in that country for more than six months.You can enter and leave as many times as you feel like during the validity of this visa, but you have no rights in that country. Your status remains that of a visitor.

Canada immigration directive is as under.

Select the visa office that serves your country of nationality or the country where you have been legally admitted for at least one year. This is the office where you will submit your application.

So you can apply for immigration to Canada from your home country or the country where you have been legally admited for one year or more. Since this forum s for Canadian immigration, I am avoiding provisions that are laid for immigration to UK or Australia.
