Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Dear friends,

Please share your experiences with the language proficiency part if you filed your application BEFORE JUNE 26, 2010
Because before that date, the test is NOT required. On or after that date, the test is required.

Has anyone successfully used TOEFL, TSE, GRE, GMAT... to substitute it?

Can we kindly share this experience???

Sharing about this

The new test requirement is simply a ripoff for those whose English is VERY good.
Lets share the experiences with the written submission IF you submitted BEFORE JUNE26, or even before April 10!!!

THANK you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be on safe side just give the test. I am also pre-June 26 applicant but I gave IELTS and got a score of 8. I would say I prepared for 14 hrs total and $185 and half a day of test time.

Here are few links on which free tests are available to practice.... I practised few of them for a week or 10 days and got score of 9.
I'm not finding 1 very useful link from where i downloaded the cambridge IELTS tests... there are available for free download.
Do that they are more than sufficient.

All the best. :)

WOW... 9 is really wonderful score....
But I do not like http://www.canadavisa.com/ielts/free-practice-tests.html , it was exceptionally tough compare to real IELTS test

Thanks canada_dream100...
But buffalo VO has returned my IELTS score back to me saying that they will request for that once file no is generated.
And now I'm worried as they havn't returned my other originals :( as the letter they sent to me states that they are returning all my package.

Should I or Should I not?

Hi,
I am at serious Emergency.
Need your frank comments please.
I am in the process of applying for F1 (Student) Visa for USA. Now, I have to submit a questionnaire. The last question in that questionnaire is- Did you apply for immigration or citizenship to any other country? If yes, then which country and what is the status of your application.

Please, I know it is awkward, but given the fact that my being a potential immigrant to Canada, the US consulate may reject me from Student VISA there. So, should I disclose that I have applied for Canadian Immigration in the Student Visa form for US?

I have only 24 hours to decide. I am sincerely looking for your pragmatic suggestion (no matter how awkward it is!).

winnycanada,
I tried using my TOEFL and a written explanation about my language skills. I claimed my language skills as high (16 points). But the VO asked for IELTS which I eventually had to take to get the 16 points.
I heard that if you are not claiming 16 points and you are claiming for moderate skills (say 8 or 10 points) they do not ask for IELTS. But, I am not sure how true it is ...

I think you should mention the truth. You are applying for F1 so they have nothing to do for canadian citizenship. Because you can study in US and go to canada for work & living. Its your choice. So my opinion is mention the truth.
