I took my IELTS last February 2010 here in Canada. I have an overall band score of 7 and I'm applying for a Permanent Residence now. Do I still need to take IELTS again? I talked to an Immigration consultant and she told me that I don't need to. I need clarification. Thank you so much.

If you are applying now you need to give ielts again... No matter what was your previous score... Your fresh IELTS score will be considered... At the time of your application IELTS must not be oldr than two years.....Immigration consultant dont give you 100% informatin ... They need clients to run their business... Its good advice to search yourself.... And dont rely on consultants.

ielts is only alid for 2 years and you have to send the origanal copy phottocopy is not accepted.

You can ask your consultant to sit for the IELTS reading, as I believe she doesn't know how to read the CIC website..........

Bottom line IELTS is valid for 2 years only!!!!!!!!!!
