hello friends,
I applied for cec last week on noc category 'O'. my Ielts score is 6 band overall and individual are
listening --6.5
reading---6.5
writing----5.5
speaking--6.0

so is there any chance for rejection and if yes then give me some suggestions.
is it better to withdraw application? and how?
if i withdraw the application do i get my documents back or not?

Next time refer to: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/language-testing.asp

Overall score does not matter for CEC applications. Your language results
are not sufficient for CEC.
You'd need a 6.0 in all four categories.

They'll send your application back to you, you get your documents back. Re-take test and apply again.

If you convert below IELTS bands to CLB it will be as follows:

Listening --6.5 --> CLB 7
Reading---6.5 --> CLB 8
Writing----5.5 --> CLB 6
Speaking--6.0 --> CLB 7

As per my knowledge their requirement is to have CLB 7 in all four categories but if you get CLB 6 in any one then you need to get atleast one CLB 8. So looks like you will be fine. :)

I guess the following statement is true until end of last year, but now the requirement for CEC is to have 6.0 or more in all four categories in order to apply for NOC code "O" or "A"
"if you get CLB 6 in any one then you need to get atleast one CLB 8. So looks like you will be fine."

AGRU - I suggest you to better confirm this before applying.

Here is the IELTS requirement until end of last year.

Using your test results
Once you have taken a language test from a designated testing agency, you can determine if you meet the language requirements for CEC.

If you have qualifying Canadian work experience at Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A of NOC, your test results must match the CLB/NCLC below (see chart):
7 or higher for each of the language abilities, or
6 for any one of the language abilities, 7 or higher for any other two of those abilities and 8 or higher for the remaining ability,
If you have qualifying Canadian work experience at Skill Level B of NOC, your test results must match the CLB/NCLC below(see chart):
5 or higher for each of those abilities, or
4 for any one of those abilities, 5 or higher for any other two of those abilities and 6 or higher for the remaining ability.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

The CEC requirements for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) are:

NOC CLB Level Test result for each ability
Speaking Listening Reading Writing
0, A 8 6.5 7.5 6.5 6.5
0, A 7 6.0 6.0 6.0 6.0
0, A, B 6 5.5 5.5 5.0 5.5
B 5 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0
B 4 4.0 4.5 3.5 4.0

From early this year, this has been changed.

Once you have taken a language test from a designated testing agency, you can determine if your test results meet the language requirements for the CEC.

If you have qualifying Canadian work experience at Skill Type
0 or Skill Level A of NOC, your test results must match the CLB/NCLC levels set by the Minister in all four language abilities: www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/language-testing.asp.
If you have qualifying Canadian work experience at Skill Level B of NOC, your test results must match the CLB/NCLC levels set by the Minister in all four language abilities: /english/immigrate/cec/language-testing.asp.
Note: If you have Canadian work experience in both NOC 0/A and B occupations, you must submit language test results that meet the language proficiency requirements for the occupation in which you obtained the majority of your work experience during the three years preceding the date of application.

Hope this helps Toby :D

Yes, it has changed. So why would you tell someone about old immigration rules???
Last year I had a million dollars in my bank account, but I spent it all. So am I still a millionaire?! NO
Those rules don't apply anymore.

@ AGRU:

Please disregard PCKUMARs post and re-take test. Here's the table according to
2013 immigration rules for CEC:

Language requirements for NOC 0, A:

ListeningReadingWritingSpeaking
6.06.06.06.0

There is no rule saying that if you have less than 6.0 in one category you need 8.0 in another one to be eligible.
You need 6.0 in EVERY of the four categories.

Toby, This is not a fair way to respond in this forum. I explained you in detail since you were asking "Where did u read that"
Anyways, I was trying to say that TorontoFerrari's statement that AGRU is fine with the score was not correct.

This forum is very friendly and don't make it XXXX. Give respect and take respect 8)

lol. dont get me wrong, didnt mean it in a bad way, all im saying is that the rules
for cec are simple and i want to keep it that way. mentioning old rules
only adds to the confusion.
