Dear Jay22,

I suggest you to improve IELTS result and dont keep urself at the boundary level for points calculation. There was one case on this forum who had 69 points and same like your IELTS score but the Visa Officer has rejected the case and had asked explanation for surviving in canada.

I dont want to discourage you but prepare your self for good IELTS result. More points will be better for you.

the case of rejection u r talking about is little different friend. his case was rejected because he did not get the 5 points for his relative in canada and his ielts score is also low.he came from 69 points to 64.
correct me if i m wrong.

Dear narendra,

The case was not for considering relative points. He had points for relatives but his relatives were not financially settled in canada and were seeking assistance from government in 2009.

The visa officer had stated that his relatives could not support him as they themselves are not financially strong. Secondly his english proficiency was not upto mark that he can survive there. Practically also if person's english is not moderate, how he will survive.

Mr. Islam,
This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.
Although you have obtained 69 selection points, I am not satisfied that these points accurately reflect
your ability to economically establish in Canada. Therefore, I am considering refusing your case
using negative substituted evaluation for the following reasons:

a) With basic writing skills and moderate listening, reading, speaking skills (per IELTS)
I believe you will have difficulty finding employment in Canada as a vocational instructor
(the field of your declared work experience) or in a related field;

b) Mohammad Jahagir, your uncle in Canada, has clearly not economically established there
as he has been unemployed since returning to Canada in July 2009 and he is (per 2009
T5007) collecting social assistance in Canada. Therefore, I am not satisfied that your uncle
will be able to significantly assist you in becoming economically established yourself.
This is a procedural fairness letter giving you an opportunity to respond to this information within
60 days from the date of this letter before a final decision is made on this case.
Kind regards

Well replied Coolguy2010! What you said about poor english language skills also being a detrimental factor & not just securing 67 points is so true, which I have also seen in some other cases.
The fact of the matter is that with poor english skills an applicant will have tough time finding a job in Canada. IELTS is not just about securing 67 points but to also establish your credibility in the Canadian Job market !

Wow this is very informative...I had just finished my IELTS 3days ago and waiting for the result.

God bless us.

@coolguy2010
i have not seen this email before,i read about his rejection in some discussion.u r right. For instructor english proficiency should be good. but for labour sector they may consider it if applicant score 67 points.

regards.
