IELTS Preparation suggestion please

I am planning to give IELTS general exam in a month's time. I am yet to register for exam. Can anyone who has passed the exam with good score give me a heads up on

1. How to approach the exam.
2. What training material used/suggested training material
3. Any suggestions/tips.
