IELTS - Is it compulsory

Hi,

I have applied for FSW1 on 4/5/2010. I am in US and working here on H1. I wanted to know if IELTS is compulsory for FSW1 application or not.

I did send a letter along mentioning that my studies (including school, bachelors and masters) education has been in english and i have been working here in US for 3 years as a proof claiming high proficiency in english.

please let me know.

if your mother tongue is not english, then it's compulsory. else, with a written proof, you will leave yourself on the mercy of immigration officer, as he may or may not reward you the full language points.

i've been in the US for 10 years now,i went to college here and i'm very fluent in french also.
however i still took the english test to make sure they won't reject me.
