Just noticed this ;D , on .ca website it says has to be General... what is the difference they both same standard tough or one is easier than the other?

One is used to get into universities, so the content is more academia. General is focused on more day-to-day activities.

do they both have same standard(s)... difficulty wise.. or one is easier as compared to other... I've been practising using academic mostly... so not sure if there be an y difference when ill use
general practice training (IELTS)

Some people say general is easier, but I have honestly found no difference. Reading is more or less the same, just the topics are different. Main difference is in writing task 1.

For both the test Listening and Speaking modules are same whereas reading and writing are different.

Academic IELTS reading & writing are difficult than general.

Difference in IELTS Reading:

General Training: Nature Level Time Requirement
Passage 1: Social Easy Spend Less Time
Passage 2: Work Difficult Spend More Time
Passage 3: Academic More Difficult Spend Most Time
Academic:
Passage 1: Academic Difficult Spend Less Time
Passage 2: Academic More Difficult Spend More Time
Passage 3: Academic Most Difficult Spend Most Time

Difference in IELTS Writing:

General:

Task 1 writing a Letter 150 words
Task 2 writing an Essay 250 words

Academic:

Task 1 writing a report 150 words
Task 2 writing an Essay 250 words
