Ielts for a sponsored spouse

Just need clarification if a sponsored spouse from Brazil needs to have an ielts test?

Well that is good to know. She is marrying a canadian and will be applying inland but just needed to know if she needed to have the ielts to apply for her permanat residence.

No, not a requirement, but will make her life a LOT easier if she can speak one of Canada's official languages when she arrives.

She does speak pretty well, and has worked at an english school. That has definitely helped. She will at some point need to do the academic test in order to study once this process is done!

yeah if she wants to study in Canada, IELTS is needed. usually universities require a minimum of 6,5 overall. however, she needs to check on the uni's site beforehand.
