Hi,

To my disappointment , my IELTS score came as a disaster.
Listening: 8.5
Reading: 7.0
Writing: 6.0
Speaking: 7.0
Overall: 7.0

Before i had
L - 8
R - 8
S - 7.5
W - 7.5

Since it is a disaster score, do you think it has similar score i am unable to see where to calculate score average. I believe i have to sit for retest can you help with score calculation so i can book a retest at the earliest.

And another issue the whole of INDIA is booked for IELTS, the only way out is to go outside country :P

Any help is appreciated.

Regards

Did your previous IELTS test expired or still valid?

Expired on 27th July, i guess according to CRS tool, MY WRITING score of 6.0 is giving me a hit of 50+ points in score.

Ya i feel for you.You certainly need to improve your writing score.
but i feel IELTS is a gamble you improve in one module the other get worst i appeared in Ielts on August 1st and even though i improve my score but it didnot significantly improve my CRS score

I took twice ielts , both the time all modules 7.5 constant .
so left IELTS and picked PNP route.

Hello everyone,
I know it is quite complicated to calculate the Language Proficiency Score, by transfer it from IELTS-GT to CLB. For me I built two theories,
In the first theory, you can manage to take every skill (S/W/R/L) and rate it using CLB vs IELTS-GT tables and then after getting your CLB? in reciprocal to

the every and each IELTS-GT skill (S/W/R/L) you can calculate the points regarding each CLB? for each IELTS-GT individually; You can calculate the points

regarding English proficiency score based on the different CLB? for each different skill (S/W/R/L)
lets take an Example : in my case ,
IELTS-GT Speaking7.5 Writing6 Reading7.5 Listening8.5
CLB CLB10 CLB7 CLB9 CLB10
English Proficiency points 6 4 6 6 = 22
other example:
IELTS-GT Speaking7 Writing6.5 Reading6.5 Listening6.5
CLB CLB9 CLB8 CLB8 CLB7
English Proficiency points 6 5 5 4 = 20

but the other theory which was illustrated in many webistes, which indicate that even if you score high in some skills (S/W/R/L) yet, your final CLB
score will be determined by the minimum skill score you achieve .
for example: in my case
IELTS-GT Speaking7.5 Writing6 Reading7.5 Listening8.5
CLB CLB7 CLB7 CLB7 CLB7
English Proficiency points 4 4 4 4 = 16
just because Writing score in IELTS-GT is 6 out of 9 so CLB7 will be compelled upon all the other skills score.
this is my conclusion from what I had already read, please if someone is well acquainted with what or which mythology is right, please post it.
thanks every one

I hope you know that their is a calculator to do this. Just saying.

Calculator http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp
Language Charts http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

Am I missing something?
Why would you need two theories for how language skill points are calculated, if you can check it with the official CRS calculator?
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

In the case of the topicstarter, with the score L8.5R7W6S7, the official languages score is 113 (no spouse), plus possible points in the skills transferability section, depending on your education and work experience.
So it goes like this:

Skill IELTS CLB Pts
L 8.5 10 34
R 7 9 31
W 6 7 17
S 7 9 31

Upd: Ah, I was late :)
