Ielts - can we make change / cut / editing in the writing module

Just wanted to know from those who have given ielts test, in the writing module, can u cut and modify your sentence, is it allowed as when u write with pen u cannot erase it.
so is cutting allowed, wont it cut your score??? or wil there b some sort of negative marking?

Hi GRV,

I can only tell you about my experience. I sat for the Academic IELTS last March and in the writing module I did make a few erasures and corrections. I had used a pencil so when I saw that I still had a bit of time I simply erased what I previously wrote; but towards the end because of time constraints, I just striked out a part of the sentence and wrote above or below it, wherever there was space. I tried my best to minimize my corrections and I still managed to get a 7.5 for writing. Good luck!
