Hi,

I'm moving to Canada on a working holiday visa next week. Looking at the IEC website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/iec/arrival.asp - it states that I need to bring original copies of documents provided in my work permit application.

Can someone clarify what is an 'original document'? When I submitted the application online, all my documents were electronic copies that were just uploaded to the website. Sure I can print these documents but do I have get them verified/certified or stamped from someone to prove that they are original?

I'm moving next week, would be great if someone could clarify if I need to certify these documents?

Thanks!

You don't need anything stamped, just bring whatever you uploaded.

Even then, very rare for them to need anything other than you loi and passport.

plus insurance for the full IEC term and proof of funds 2500 cdn.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I assume by 'loi' you mean the approval letter that you get on mycic website stating that you'll get your work visa when you land at the airport and show the approval letter from mycic?

Thanks!

I am in a similar situation. One of the original documents scanned and uploaded with my application was accidentally destroyed. I still have the scanned copy.

I have requested a new one, however I highly doubt I will receive it in time, with the Christmas / New Year break. I will be going to CA in a week.

Are they likely to ask for original documents. If so, can I just tell the immigration officer that the original documents has been destroyed and supply proof of the new document requested (emails, receipt of payment etc)?

Can they outright reject your visa on the grounds you don't have an original document and prevent you from entering CA again with the same Letter of Invitation (LoI)? My LoI is valid until a later date in 2017.

Thanks

When you land all you need is proof of insurance for the duration, proof of access to 2500 dollars and your LOI/POE letter plus of course a passport with validity for the duration.

Doubtful they will want any other documents you uploaded but if makes you happier take copies given the LOI/POE letter shows decision made in the system based on docs you uploaded. CBSA just want to see the things listed above not any PCcs for example.
