Hello guys,

I have applied for a IEC Visa on June 3rd because I am going to do an internship in Canada. I know on the website the processing time is 8 weeks for this visa, but since the day I submitted all of my documents I didn't receive any updates regarding my application. It says that it's being processed. Also, I have done the medical exams upfront, but they didn't ask me for it yet. I know sometimes they don't ask for it at all, but in my application I had to provide a document proving that I was going to do the medical exam in the first place.

It's been almost 8 weeks and no response. Is this normal? Is anyone going through the same situation? I find it very frustrating that takes them this long to even start looking through my application. I though I would receive some updates during this 8 week period, but nothing was said about it so I assume they pretty much don't process your application until the last minute of this period. I am so frustrated with this. My employer and I are just waiting for this visa so I can go to Canada and start working. Is there any way I can contact the CIC office to get some information about it?

Thanks!

When you say that you applied on June 3rd, is this the date you submitted your original profile or is this the date you submitted your full application after being selected and receiving an invitation?

You are still well within normal processing times. CIC won't tell you how much longer it will be. Unfortunately I don't think there's anything you can do but wait.

Well, it the 9th week and still no response. Is it really normal? I have sent two case-specific enquiries to CIC and still no response. I am so frustrated with this whole system. This is so ridiculous. My employer is waiting for me to go to Canada and I get no answer about what's going on with my application. I tried to call to talk to a CIC agent several times, but it always says that "They're experiencing a high volume of calls" and that I should try to contact them later.

Is anyone going through this? I am afraid that if something is wrong with my application and they rejected it, I might have to go through everything all over again.
