I hope i can articulate the situation properly.

I am an Irish citizen and was granted my working holiday visa on Jan 17. my Girlfriend is a Latvian citizen and has almost no chance of getting a visa this year. She entered the pool stage 5 days after it opened.

So now we have the situation where i have a visa and she doesn't but after almost 5 years together I can very well go it alone.

If anyone was so kind as to give us some options or what we should do i would be so grateful.

Looking for days and not getting the answers.

Huge thanks
Peter.

Read the section in following link on applicant not accompanied by dependants. Key points are you would need to get a job classified as NOC 0,A or B, prove any common law relationship and then your partner could apply independantly for an open work permit off back of your IEC.

Not easy and maybe in the interim would need to enter as a visitor. Others will probably add comments.

She's visa exempt, so could go with you as a visitor easily. She could work a remote job as long as the company has no ties to Canada.

Cheers for the reply! Visa exempt because she is a Latvian citizen? typically how long would visitor visa last for?
