Has anyone failed to get a place on the IEC uk program? How hard is it to get a place?
Really worried I won't get one.

1. The present answer is 0 failed to get a place, since it hasn't opened yet for 2015

Yes - unfortunately many have failed in past years and yes, it tends to be difficult to get a place. The spots are snapped up extremely quickly (last year there were three rounds and each took less than 1/2 hour to cap). The most you can do is keep checking the web site regularly and make sure you are at your computer when the program is opened so that you can apply immediately. CIC has changed the rules somewhat this year so this may mean that spots don't go quite as quickly. Having said that, you should be ready to apply immediately when the program opens.

What documents should i have ready for when the iec 2015 open?

As of writing: cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/IEC.asp#iec3

  • A valid passport.
    • Your passport must be valid both upon applying to the IEC program and upon entry to and departure from Canada. The work permit will not be issued for longer than the validity of your passport.

  • Your résumé.
    • Your résumé should be complete and up to date. Its format must follow the IEC résumé template...

These are required for stage 1. Stage 2 will require a police report for all countries you've lived in 6+ months since age 18. However, as the conditional Acceptance Letter is valid only for short time (rumoured to be 7 day this year), it may benefit you to get that before the quota even opens, if you spare the money that is.

Oh and the $150 CAD fee.
