Hi, I am confused and don't know what to do, please help! I was in Canada as a tourist when I got approved for and started an IEC OWP. I used it for a month and then went back to Australia (where im from) for two months. In this time I applied for PR through my common law partner who is Canadian and sponsoring me, we applied out land. Then we headed back to Canada and I have now been here working, on my IEC OWP for the last 10 months. My issue is that my current IEC OWP is due to expire on Jan 11 2018. This is 1.5 months before my PR application has been submitted for 12 months and processing time for out land PR is 12 months. What can I do when my IEC expires? I don't think there is a way I can still work, although that would be ideal. Do I need to leave the country and come back as a visitor? Do I have implied status because I have applied for PR? Can I just stay and not work? Is there a way I can work? Please help!

Apply to change your status to visitor from within Canada. You'll need to stop working as soon as your IEC expires.

To answer your implied status question - no, you don't have implied status. You would only have implied status if you had applied inland and had included an OWP in the application.
