Hi everyone,

Today September 5th, after many months and loads of time and money spent, my IEC application was denied. Here's why:

- I've lived in three different countries in the past 10 years. I therefore had to get three different police cerficates. I applied for those on August 11th, 20 days before the deadline, should have been plenty of time, right? Nope.

- The French one was free and came back instantly.
- The Dutch "VOG" service "quarantined" my application twice (their antivirus system couldn't scan my PDF documents!), told me all sorts of esoteric ways of modifying the documents and applying through various online forms, etc. Three weeks later, I was still waiting.
- The English one (ACRO) has confirmed my application and failed to reply so far. It might have something to do with them having to check my sixteen (16!) previous addresses over the past 10 years, which they asked for, and which took me a whole afternoon to retrieve.

- On August 27, a few days before IRCC's deadline of August 31, I sent a message through the "Case Specific Enquiry" online form, to try and explain why my police certificates were late in coming in. I attached documents showing that I had indeed applied for those (costly!) English and Dutch police certificates. I never received an answer to this message.

I just sent a another message to protest through the "Cast Specific Enquiry" form, but I have little hope that someone will actually read it at this point.

Does anyone have any advice for me, maybe a number I could call? IRCC's number can only be called from within Canada (very convenient, for an immigration administration!) and I am seriously desperate. At this point, it seems like my only option is to reapply and pay all the fees once more!!

Thank you everyone,

Tania
