Hello, I'm an international student in Canada and currently in 1st year. My faculty has a rule that if the student does not pass one course by 71/100, she or he cannot proceed to the next year. Out of 4 courses, I failed one course and the faculty said there is no course I can take for this upcoming fall term(Every single course is co-requisite to the other courses). Also, electives are not required for my major(nursing). Since international student tuition and residence fee are too high, it'd be a financial burden to my parents. My school's international student center told me it would be better for me to get an approved letter from the faculty that I can take my term off, but the faculty has not replied to me yet. Is there any other way that I can take this term off and get a work permit after graduation?

Thank you
