Hi everyone, I’m gearing up for my ICT C62 reapplication (NOC 20010, Engineering Manager in automotive software/AI) after previous rejections due to insufficient docs. Now I’m stuck on a key question about my spouse’s work permit, and hoping for insights from those with experience:

Should I submit my spouse’s open work permit simultaneously with my ICT application, or wait until my main ICT work permit is approved first?

I’ve heard mixed opinions: Some say submitting together streamlines the process (links the spouse’s eligibility directly to the main ICT), while others warn that if the main application is still under review, the spouse’s permit might face stricter scrutiny alone.

My core concerns:

  1. Does submitting the spouse’s permit alongside mine improve approval chances (by tying it to the ICT’s "significant benefit" and legitimate business purpose)?
  2. Is the risk of rejection higher for the spouse’s permit if I apply for it separately (after my ICT is approved)? Will IRCC treat it as a standalone application with fewer supporting links to the ICT?

For context: My reapplication now has strong evidence for R205a (formal contracts, NA-CA synergy, team expansion plans), so I’m confident about the main ICT. But I want to avoid mistakes with the spouse’s permit.

Has anyone been in a similar situation (ICT C62, NOC 20010) and can share their experience with spouse work permit timing? Any advice on which approach is safer or more efficient would be greatly appreciated!
