I WAS TOLD BY IRCC AGENT THAT GETTING PORTAL 1 EMAIL DOESN'T MEANS YOU ARE APPROVED .

Show the agent below content posted on official IRCC website canada.ca !! It clearly states that you will receive the email for residence confirmation only after IRCC approves your PR application. You will officially become a permanent resident once you receive the eCOPR though!

How the portal works
If we approve your application, we’ll

• send you an invitation to confirm
  • your email address
  • all email addresses for each person on your application
  • you’re in Canada
• create an account for you (you can’t create one yourself)
• send another email with your temporary account details

How long did it take you to get P2 and eCOPR? My VO is Montreal too

EMAIL NUMBER 1# MEANS YOUR APPLICATION FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCY IS APPROVED, BUT UNTIL YOU GET YOUR ECOPR IS WHEN YOU CAN CALL YOURSELF PERMANENT RESIDENCE. I GOT THE EMAIL 1# ON AUGUST THE 14, 2025 AND I'M STILL WAITING FOR THE SECOND EMAIL, THAT WILL GIVE ME ACCESS TO THE PORTAL TO UPLOAD , PHOTO AND OTHER THINGS AND THEN GET MY ECOPR IN A FEW WEEKS.
