Hi all,

I’m a Ph.D. student in the University of Waterloo. I applied for a permanent residence after being legally here in Canada for 1 year. I applied under federal skilled workers category (NOC 4122). I sent my application via regular mail to Centralized Intake Office (CIO) on June 5th, 2010. After that there were some changes in the immigration rules that affect who applied on or after June 26, 2010. Under these new rules I’m not eligible to apply as an international student category. Until this moment I did not receive anything from CIO, nor do they withdraw the fees from my VISA account. So, shall I consider my self to be rejected? Should they send my application back? I tried to contact Call Centre telephone number 1-888-242 2100, but could not get any agent to help me. So, I just want to know whether anyone whose state is similar to mine and received any response from CIO.
:( :( :(

Thanks and appreciate your reply

I think you applciation is Ok. Don't worry about that.

I submited my application on May 13 by a courier and so far my bank draft is not crashed out yet. I know CIO just is processing the applications submitted at the end of April. You could refer to the topic " April 2010 applicants" in this forum.

Folks, please wait for 2.5 - 3 months before you hear anything back from CIO.

Both cases above are good and I don't expect any rejections due to NOC changes on 26-Jun-10.
