Not quite sure what your question is as you you have tried to post it in the title incomplete. If you are saying you are still in university do not think makes any difference in being selected from the pool.
Others can comment but as for working in communications depends I guess if that is classified as engineering which is a controlled profession. Have to be more specific on what you mean by communications. Given the temporary nature of an IEC will be a matter of luck securing a good job regardless without Canadian experience as well
